I bought the stars for this quilt at a yard sale a couple of years ago. Last winter, I appliqued them onto solid pastel fabrics and then pieced them together in an irregular formation. I added a border of my own invention, with a scalloped edge. During the spring and summer I hand-quilted it. In the fall of 2006 I entered it in the Spokane County Interstate Fair, where it won a blue ribbon. I also showed it in the 2006 Washington State Quilters' show.
